Senior Localization Specialist (Italian)

Location: London, UK; hybrid work with 2 days per week in the Central London (Soho) office. Candidates must have the existing right to work in the UK.

Base pay: £49,000–£60,000 per year, excluding bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Manage global localization workflows in Smartling across markets and locales, with dedicated oversight of Italian.
• Coordinate translation agencies, contractors, and internal stakeholders across international teams and time zones.
• Adapt, proofread, edit, transcreate, and quality-assure marketing, product, engineering, support, and partnership content.
• Develop and maintain glossaries, style guides, multilingual guidelines, and other linguistic reference materials.
• Test AI-driven localization workflows and conduct audits of complete user journeys to improve quality and customer experience.
• Project-manage cross-functional international initiatives and advise stakeholders on cultural nuances and globalization best practices.

Requirements

• Expertise in Italian localization and native-level understanding of the Italian locale.
• At least 5 years of hands-on localization experience covering translation, linguistics, transcreation, content creation, QA, and cultural adaptation.
• Experience with CAT tools, machine translation, and AI-driven localization workflows.
• Strong project management, communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage complex workflow and content challenges in a fast-paced hybrid international environment.
• Existing right to work in the UK and availability to work two days per week from the London office.
