Director, Compensation

Location: New York City, United States. On-site role based in the Union Square office.

Salary: $226,100–$266,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own and evolve compensation guidelines, pay structures, salary ranges, and scalable compensation processes across levels and geographies.
• Lead job architecture initiatives, including leveling, job family mapping, and career framework design.
• Manage compensation benchmarking with Pave, Ravio, or similar market data platforms.
• Lead compensation analytics, pay equity analysis, range penetration reviews, forecasting, and executive-ready reporting.
• Develop recommendations for merit cycles, promotions, off-cycle adjustments, equity refreshes, and executive compensation.
• Advise People Business Partners and managers, manage vendors, build governance frameworks, and lead a Compensation Analyst.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive compensation experience, including program design and benchmarking in a growing company.
• Deep familiarity with compensation benchmarking platforms and job architecture frameworks.
• Strong analytical, judgment, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills.
• Experience managing or mentoring a compensation analyst or coordinator.
• Experience managing vendor relationships, including negotiations and performance management.
• Experience supporting a fast-growing, globally distributed workforce across the U.S., UK, EU/Nordics, and APAC.

• Experience supporting equity compensation programs involving options or RSUs.
• Experience supporting or leading executive compensation processes.
