Company

hirify.global is an environmental solutions company that combines science, data, engineering, and practical expertise to address environmental pressures, regulatory expectations, and operational risks.

What you will do

  • Lead conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering design for surface water, municipal stormwater, and flood mitigation projects across Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
  • Design stormwater drainage networks, storage facilities, constructed wetlands, low-impact development features, overland drainage systems, and erosion and sediment control measures.
  • Direct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for master drainage plans, dual-drainage networks, dam breach inundation, and wetland water balance studies.
  • Guide hydrotechnical, river engineering, and water quality assessments while integrating climate-resilient and green infrastructure solutions.
  • Manage multidisciplinary project delivery, including schedules, budgets, scope changes, client relationships, tender documents, construction cost estimates, and contract administration.
  • Support regulatory approvals, business development, proposals, client engagement, and mentoring of junior and intermediate engineering staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering; a graduate degree is an asset.
  • Professional Engineer or Professional Licensee registration with APEGA, or eligibility for immediate transfer.
  • 10 or more years of progressive experience in water resources and municipal engineering, especially urban stormwater management and surface water modeling.
  • Advanced experience with PCSWMM, EPA SWMM, MIKE+, InfoWorks ICM, or GeoSTORM; familiarity with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWAT, HSP-F, or EFDC is an asset.
  • Experience with Civil3D, AutoCAD, and spatial analysis platforms such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or Global Mapper.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean record and willingness to travel periodically within Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Python, R, or VBA for model automation and data processing.
  • Graduate degree in a relevant engineering or water resources discipline.

Culture & Benefits

  • Purpose-driven work focused on environmental responsibility and human progress.
  • Collaboration with scientists, engineers, field teams, consultants, regulatory agencies, and clients.
  • Multidisciplinary projects involving hydrogeology, geotechnical engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, transportation, and natural sciences.
  • Opportunities to contribute to the growth of the surface water practice across Western Canada.
