Data Architect (AI)

hirify.global is a Toronto-based digital transformation and Pega consulting firm building MediCore, an AI-powered platform for patient access and clinic operations.

What you will do

• Own MediCore's end-to-end data architecture across operational databases, data warehouses, streaming pipelines, and data services.
• Design scalable data models for patient access, scheduling, referrals, and clinic operations.
• Architect batch and real-time integrations with EHR/EMR and practice management systems using HL7 v2, FHIR, and third-party APIs.
• Build and govern the Google Cloud analytics platform with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and Cloud Storage.
• Design data foundations for AI/ML and LLM features, including feature pipelines, embeddings, vector storage, and training datasets.
• Establish governance, security, reporting, data migrations, and multi-tenant data residency strategies for customers across Canada, the US, Mexico, and Latin America.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles, including 3–4 years as an architect or technical lead.
• Deep expertise in relational, dimensional, and event-driven data modeling, including OLTP and analytical systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud data services, PostgreSQL, SQL, and Python.
• Experience designing scalable batch and real-time streaming pipelines, data governance, data quality frameworks, and metadata management.
• Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and access control in regulated environments.
• Spanish proficiency required.

Nice to have

• Healthcare data experience with HL7, FHIR, EHR data, or the Google Cloud Healthcare API.
• Experience with HIPAA, PHIPA, de-identification, or other healthcare compliance frameworks.
• Experience building AI/ML data platforms with Vertex AI, feature stores, vector databases, or RAG pipelines.
• Experience with dbt, Dataplex, Looker, multi-tenant SaaS architectures, or relevant Google Cloud certifications.
