What you will do

• Perform experiments on floating structures.
• Acquire, analyse, and interpret experimental data.
• Build mathematical models of fluid-structure interactions.
• Develop new experimental activities and investigate research findings.
• Write research results for publication.
• Collaborate with colleagues on joint research projects while contributing independently.

Requirements

• Hold or be close to obtaining a PhD or equivalent in physics, engineering, chemistry, or applied mathematics.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new skills.
• Work effectively both collaboratively and independently.
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice to have

• Research experience in fluid-structure interactions.
• Experience with mechanical modelling.
• Experience performing experiments on soft or slender structures.
• Analytical understanding of elastic buckling instabilities.
