Mid Backend Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own backend features and services from problem definition and requirements through design, development, testing, deployment, and production monitoring.
• Design and build services for performance, scalability, availability, resilience, and graceful failure under load.
• Maintain code quality as requirements evolve, including refactoring and constructive code reviews.
• Diagnose production incidents, identify root causes, and implement safeguards to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with product and engineering colleagues to turn moderately complex requirements into durable solutions.
• Contribute to engineering standards and share technical knowledge within an autonomous team.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience delivering and operating backend services in production, ideally in a microservices architecture.
• Working knowledge of communication protocols including HTTP and AMQP.
• Production experience with at least one modern backend framework and strong depth in one backend ecosystem.
• Understanding of relational databases, including indexing, transactions, isolation levels, and normalized schema design.
• Exposure to high availability, scalability, or resilience principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills, engineering fundamentals, technical judgment, and the ability to learn unfamiliar technologies.
