Senior Tax Platform Engineer (Tax & Compliance)

Location: Sofia; hybrid model requiring staff to work onsite 50% of the time

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for Tax and Compliance platforms and specialist enterprise applications.
• Design, implement, support, and improve platform integrations, data flows, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Translate regulatory, operational, and business requirements from Tax, Finance, and Compliance specialists into technical solutions.
• Investigate complex incidents and technical problems, addressing root causes and improving monitoring, observability, disaster recovery, and continuity.
• Evaluate vendor solutions, challenge recommendations, and strengthen internal ownership of specialist platforms.
• Document systems and decisions, share knowledge, and mentor engineers across Corporate Technology.

Requirements

• Significant engineering experience with enterprise financial, tax, compliance, ERP, or similarly complex business-critical platforms.
• Experience taking technical ownership of specialist enterprise applications and supporting production technology.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integrations, APIs, data flows, system dependencies, reliability, monitoring, security, and operational support.
• Ability to translate complex business, regulatory, and operational requirements into technical designs and platform changes.
• Experience working with enterprise SaaS products, third-party vendors, implementation partners, or managed service providers.
• Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, documenting specialist knowledge, and communicating with non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Tax and Compliance technology.
• Experience with ERP platforms such as Oracle Fusion or similar enterprise Finance ecosystems.
• Experience in environments with significant regulatory, financial, or compliance requirements.
