Postdoctoral Research Associate (Breast Cancer Biology)

Location: Memphis, Tennessee, United States; on-site research in the dos Santos laboratory at hirify.global.

What you will do

• Lead an independent, collaborative research project on mammary gland biology and breast cancer initiation or progression.
• Use genetically engineered mouse models, mammary transplantation assays, organoids, and mammalian cell culture.
• Perform molecular, cellular, imaging, and functional assays relevant to mammary gland and cancer biology.
• Collaborate with computational scientists to analyze single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, spatial, and other genomic datasets.
• Present findings, prepare manuscripts and research proposals, and apply for fellowships.
• Mentor graduate students, research staff, and junior laboratory members while contributing to a rigorous and inclusive laboratory environment.

Requirements

• PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree in cancer biology, molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology, genetics, immunology, bioengineering, computational biology, or a related discipline.
• Strong scientific productivity and evidence of independent research ability.
• Experience with at least one relevant area, such as mouse models, organoid culture, molecular and cellular biology, microscopy, flow cytometry, single-cell genomics, epigenomics, or computational analysis.
• Strong quantitative, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and contribute effectively to collaborative projects.
• Commitment to rigorous, reproducible, and ethical research.

Nice to have

• Expertise in immunology, stromal biology, developmental biology, aging, metabolism, bioengineering, or computational genomics.
