Senior Accountant (Fintech)

Location: Remote work is available from AZ, CO, DC, IL, MD, TX, and VA; remote work from CA, FL, MA, NY, OR, WA, and WI may require additional approval. In-office or hybrid work is available in Denver, CO or Chandler, AZ. Occasional in-person team meetings may be required.

Salary: $87,000–$108,000 per year, plus potential performance-based incentive and equity options.

What you will do

• Own daily general ledger activity, high-volume refinance loan transactions, and bank reconciliations.
• Manage PPE analysis, capitalization journal entries, and schedule reconciliations.
• Lead accounting onboarding for new lenders, including systems, approval routing, and operational readiness.
• Prepare complex journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and revenue reconciliations during month-end close.
• Support financial reporting, variance analysis, flux reviews, audit queries, and ad hoc financial analysis.
• Improve close procedures, automate manual tasks, and establish GAAP-compliant processes and internal controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA is strongly preferred.
• 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in public accounting, large corporate environments, or fintech.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of US GAAP, including the ability to document accounting conclusions.
• Experience with modern accounting software; NetSuite experience is preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze large, complex datasets.
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, discretion, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
