Lead Technician (Power Generation) - Memphis

Location: On-site at the power generation facility in Southaven, Mississippi, or Memphis, Tennessee; potential travel to other sites.

What you will do

• Lead operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair across gas turbines, generators, balance-of-plant equipment, fuel gas, water, compressed air, HVAC, cooling, and plant electrical systems up to 34.5 kV.
• Serve as the working technical lead for assigned jobs, shifts, and outages, coordinating work across mechanical, process, and electrical disciplines.
• Mentor technicians through on-the-job training, technical guidance, and quality checks.
• Execute switching, isolation, LOTO, start-up, shutdown, breaker racking, and restoration activities safely.
• Investigate alarms, trips, equipment failures, and root causes using P&IDs, single-line diagrams, schematics, and test equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, maintain CMMS work orders and records, and support commissioning and outages.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• At least 5 years of experience maintaining power-generation equipment or high-reliability industrial systems as a plant, process, electrical, or industrial technician.
• Experience providing technical direction, on-the-job training, or crew-lead support.
• Experience with gas turbine or plant mechanical systems, process and fluid systems, and/or medium-voltage electrical systems from 4.16 kV to 34.5 kV.
• Ability to read P&IDs, single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals; experience with LOTO, switching procedures, and NFPA 70E / arc-flash safety.
• Ability to work on-site, including extended hours, nights, weekends, rotating or on-call schedules, hazardous environments, tight quarters, heights, and varied weather conditions. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 25 lbs. are required.

Nice to have

• Journeyman electrician or millwright license, or equivalent formal trade training.
• Experience troubleshooting motors, VFDs, MCCs, pumps, valves, rotating equipment, and plant auxiliary systems.
• Familiarity with electrical and mechanical test equipment, including multimeters, insulation testers, infrared tools, and vibration equipment.
