Full Stack Engineer (Ruby/React)

Location: Remote, USA. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States is required.

Salary: $150,000–$185,000 per year plus equity.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain responsive React frontends for reliable, high-performance applications.
• Develop and scale Ruby on Rails APIs serving web, desktop, and mobile clients in challenging environments.
• Own PostgreSQL data architecture, including data modeling, schema migrations, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Manage containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes and provision infrastructure with Terraform.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, testing practices, technical design reviews, and peer code reviews.
• Collaborate with business development and mission success teams to resolve technical escalations affecting field operations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional full-stack engineering experience building production applications at scale.
• Deep expertise in Ruby, SQL, PostgreSQL internals, schema design, query execution plans, transactions, and performance tuning.
• Advanced React experience with modular component architecture, complex state management, and frontend performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor in daily development workflows.
• Ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in defense, public safety, DoD, or first-responder software.
• Familiarity with the Team Awareness Kit ecosystem and real-time geospatial data flows.
• Experience with biometric data, privacy regulations, encryption standards, or EBTS requirements.
• Experience designing mobile-optimized APIs for secure exchange, versioning, offline synchronization, and low-bandwidth environments.
• Exposure to LLM integration or Kotlin, C++, C#, and Python.
