Software Engineer for Satellite Control Centres (C++/Python)

Location: Hybrid role based in Tres Cantos, Madrid, Spain; includes up to 8 weeks per year of teleworking outside the usual geographical area. Relocation package available for candidates coming from another country.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain complex components of satellite control systems.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to system evolution.
• Collaborate through technical reviews and design sessions.
• Ensure the quality and reliability of delivered software.
• Support incident resolution and improve existing features.
• Improve development tools, workflows, and engineering practices.

Requirements

• Extensive, demonstrable experience developing software for complex systems.
• Strong backend development skills for complex distributed systems.
• Solid knowledge of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with C++17/C++20 and Python 3.
• Experience with Java, JavaScript, React, or Node.
• Knowledge of Docker or other containerization technologies.
• Front-end development experience, Git, CI/CD, automation tools, or GitLab pipelines.
• Knowledge of hexagonal architecture, clean code, or modern software design principles.
