IT Staff Auditor (Cybersecurity)

Location: Chevy Chase, Maryland, United States; hybrid workplace with work primarily conducted in an office setting

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per year

What you will do

• Conduct walkthroughs of IT processes and systems to identify information security, access control, and technology operations risks.
• Assess the design and operating effectiveness of cybersecurity, data protection, IT governance, and other technology controls.
• Plan and execute IT audits, prepare comprehensive workpapers, document conclusions, and develop recommendations for management.
• Review network security, application controls, change management, disaster recovery, and other processes under the annual IT Audit Plan.
• Support regulatory compliance assessments and external auditors with IT-related audit procedures.
• Coordinate audit coverage with bank management, external auditors, and co-sourced IT audit partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree focused on Information Technology or IT Security, obtained through education or experience.
• At least 2 years of IT auditing, IT internal audit, or IT risk management experience.
• Strong knowledge of IT systems, cybersecurity controls, information security frameworks, data integrity, and IT audit methodology.
• Ability to perform risk and control assessments, prioritize audit projects, and build relationships with IT and business stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, time management, and multitasking skills.

Nice to have

• CISA, CISSP, or a similar professional certification.
• Experience using data analytics tools to analyze and test IT system datasets.
• Understanding of banking IT environments and regulatory requirements.
