What you will do

• Design, plan, and coordinate community-based participatory research, public health program planning, and program evaluation activities for the TOPS opioid prevention project.
• Develop and implement qualitative and mixed-methods protocols, including needs assessments, interviews, focus groups, surveys, and participatory evaluation methods.
• Collaborate with schools, community organizations, local health departments, external partners, and research teams to implement project activities.
• Develop online data collection tools and manage qualitative and quantitative data using platforms such as Qualtrics and REDCap.
• Support data analysis, reporting to funding agencies, academic writing, publications, policy briefs, and dissemination to community stakeholders.
• Train or supervise students and research staff and support workshops, training sessions, and research learning events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education, health promotion, community health, social and behavioral sciences, or a closely related discipline.
• At least two years of related public health, health education, health promotion, or program management experience.
• Experience with community-based or school-based research, program evaluation, data collection, or qualitative research.
• Ability to build relationships with community partners and liaise between internal project staff and external organizations.
• Familiarity with data collection and analysis software, including Qualtrics, REDCap, and qualitative analysis tools such as NVivo, Dedoose, or Atlas.ti.
• The position is based in College Station, Texas, and is grant funded; continued employment may depend on future funding.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in public health, health education, health promotion, program management, or a related field.
• Experience with underserved or rural communities, substance-use or opioid prevention, behavioral health, evidence-based prevention models, or trauma-informed approaches.
• Familiarity with social-ecological models, health behavior theories, and community-based participatory research principles.
• Experience writing grant proposals, academic publications, conference abstracts, or reports for community and policy audiences.
