What you will do
- Design and build data models in Databricks for Student Success Center reporting and analysis.
- Standardize semantic layer components and metric definitions across reports, dashboards, and leadership materials.
- Improve transformation-layer data quality through validation, freshness, and reconciliation checks.
- Partner with Business Technology on upstream data sources, pipeline changes, and data governance.
- Turn recurring manual reports into maintainable modeled data products in Power BI and measure the time saved.
- Document data lineage, definitions, design decisions, and existing deliverables.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of SQL, including joins, aggregations, query debugging, and resolving data issues.
- Functional Python experience sufficient to navigate scripts and workflows and implement solutions with AI assistance.
- Foundational database management knowledge, including keys, grains, normalization, and table design.
- Strong analytical judgment and experience working with ambiguity to deliver measurable stakeholder outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Full-time, 40-hour-per-week co-op commitment from January through June 2027, with some flexibility for academic schedules.
Nice to have
- Experience in a data engineering or analytics environment.
- Knowledge of Databricks, Snowflake, or another cloud data platform.
- Experience with technical documentation, project management, data transformation tools, or AI tooling in analytics workflows.
