Software Engineer I (Java/React)

Location: Remote-first hybrid role for candidates within a commutable distance of office hubs in London, Oxford, Krakow, or Lisbon, with periodic in-person gatherings.

What you will do

• Design, code, test, and deploy full-stack features for the travel experiences marketplace.
• Release production code frequently as part of the full software development lifecycle.
• Build clean, readable solutions with automated unit and integration testing.
• Use AI coding tools such as Cursor, Codex, Claude, or Open Code for boilerplate, tests, and small refactors.
• Collaborate with product, design, and data specialists through design reviews and cross-functional work.
• Seek feedback, communicate blockers, and continuously develop technical skills.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Familiarity with web application development and at least one backend language, such as Java, C#, Go, or Python.
• Basic knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Comfort with AI-assisted coding tools and openness to working in the Java ecosystem.
• Clear communication skills and an ability to explain technical reasoning and blockers.

Nice to have

• Exposure to AWS, React, or NoSQL databases.
• Experience completing coding exercises in any programming language.
