Director, Strategic Communications (Financial Services Policy)

Location: Washington, DC, United States; based in the Washington, DC office

Salary: $130,000–$180,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Coordinate financial services industry client accounts and sub-projects, with a focus on policy issues including digital assets and digital currencies.
• Develop persuasive messaging and communications materials that simplify complex policy, legislative, regulatory, and legal topics.
• Create media outreach strategies, pitch stories, and cultivate relationships with local and national media outlets.
• Manage multiple client projects, including tasks, deadlines, and delivery from concept through completion.
• Review and edit materials from junior staff and interns while collaborating with Associate Directors, Senior Associates, and Associates.
• Support client relationships, integrated services, and new business development.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in a related field and 9–12 years of relevant experience.
• Experience or familiarity with financial services policy issues.
• Exceptional writing and communications skills, including newspaper-style and social media writing.
• Experience pitching stories and understanding the factors that drive media coverage.
• Strong project management, strategic thinking, leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
