Project Engineer (Rail Connectivity)

Location: Paris, Île-de-France, France (Hybrid). Occasional extended international travel may be required for certain projects.

What you will do

• Coordinate technical project delivery with project and engineering managers, internal teams, and clients.
• Develop and finalize high-level and detailed technical designs based on project proposals.
• Create integration, testing, configuration, training, installation, and handover documentation.
• Define and review network and system configurations against design objectives.
• Investigate technical issues, coordinate troubleshooting, and provide third-line support when required.
• Manage client or internal support handover, including training.

Requirements

• At least three years of hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting switches, routers, access points, and other network devices.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, LAN and VLAN IP planning, wireless technologies, and Linux platforms.
• Experience creating system schematics, bills of materials, test documents, technical processes, and procedures.
• Strong technical and customer-facing communication skills in English, plus good documentation and planning skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and perform effectively in pressurized situations.

Nice to have

• Experience with satellite communications, mobile data networks, RF planning, antenna design, and antenna placement.
• Experience in the rail or transportation sector and knowledge of railway certification requirements.
• Red Hat or Debian Linux certification and a degree in electrical, electronic, IT, computing engineering, or a related subject.
• Experience with hardware integration, Puppet, Zabbix, virtual machines, security testing, and penetration testing.
