Motor Claims Fraud Handler

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; hybrid working with a mix of home and office days.

What you will do

• Own a portfolio of suspected opportunistic and organised fraudulent motor claims involving accidental damage, personal injury, and credit hire.
• Analyse claim files, conduct open-source intelligence searches, and use industry databases including CUE, SIRA, MIAFTR, and CIFAS.
• Conduct detailed phone interviews with policyholders, third parties, and witnesses to validate statements and challenge discrepancies.
• Appoint and manage forensic motor engineers, investigators, and panel solicitors.
• Make decisions on claim repudiation, policy voidance, and findings of Fundamental Dishonesty while maintaining accurate reserves and meeting SLAs.
• Apply fraud prevention methods and follow FCA/PRA, Data Protection/GDPR, TCF, and Consumer Duty requirements.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience handling motor insurance claims, including dedicated experience identifying and investigating motor fraud.
• Strong knowledge of UK motor liability, indemnity, bodily injury, credit hire, and relevant legal and litigation frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and close attention to detail when reviewing complex claim documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for challenging conversations, detailed interviews, and repudiation negotiations.
• Adaptability, self-motivation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, growing business.
