Head of Operational Risk (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid role based in Eastleigh or London, with flexible working available within the UK

Salary: £88,000–£132,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead and develop the Operational Risk function and team.
• Maintain and improve operational risk frameworks, policies, standards, and guidance.
• Provide independent oversight and challenge of risk assessments, controls, and action plans.
• Monitor emerging risks and provide practical, commercially focused recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Deliver clear risk reporting and support business leaders with risk ownership and accountability.
• Provide risk input to projects, transformation programmes, audits, regulators, and assurance partners.

Requirements

• Strong experience in operational risk, enterprise risk, or governance.
• Experience in a regulated financial services environment.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and communicate clearly.
• Strong leadership and people development skills.
• Ability to provide constructive challenge, interpret complex information, and turn it into practical action.
• Strategic mindset, commercial judgement, integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
