Manager, Advanced Threat Detection and Research (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid, with an average of two days per week from an HPE office; the listed compensation applies to the United States, including California.

Salary: USD 183,000–370,500 annual base salary in California, United States, plus possible variable incentives.

What you will do

• Manage the threat detection engineering team and threat research team.
• Lead delivery of threat detection technologies for HPE's Advanced Threat Prevention Cloud and SRX NextGen firewall.
• Direct threat research into real-world threats, actionable intelligence, and detection prototypes.
• Manage headcount, schedules, budgets, deliverables, resources, suppliers, and outsourced partners across multiple programs.
• Communicate program status and strategic recommendations to program managers, marketing, technical leaders, and executives.
• Hire, coach, evaluate, and support the career development of direct reports.

Requirements

• First-level university degree or equivalent experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 10 or more years of related experience, including 5 or more years of people management.
• Hands-on cybersecurity experience designing and implementing security solutions and threat detection techniques.
• Knowledge of the cybersecurity threat landscape and experience driving threat research toward product outcomes.
• Experience publishing cybersecurity blogs and presenting to varied audiences, including live or recorded broadcasts and media interviews.
• Mastery in English, with advanced written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
