Lead Software Engineer (Axiom ControllerView)

Location: Buffalo, New York, United States of America. Hybrid schedule with four days onsite at Seneca One Buffalo and one day working from home per week.

Salary: $116,400–$194,000 annual USD.

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and modernize Axiom ControllerView solutions used for regulatory reporting.
• Write secure, efficient, and resilient code while leading technical requirements gathering and solution delivery.
• Build Python scripts, APIs, data-processing utilities, and automation for platform support and operational activities.
• Support Azure resources, application integrations, deployments, monitoring, troubleshooting, incident analysis, and root-cause resolution.
• Drive engineering practices for scalability, resiliency, performance, security, identity and access management, and cost optimization.
• Lead code reviews, testing and coverage practices, architecture discussions, change management, and technical coaching.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree with at least 7 years of systems analysis or application development experience, or a bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Expert proficiency in at least one relevant programming language and professional proficiency in at least one additional language.
• Hands-on Microsoft Azure and strong Python experience, including automation, APIs, data processing, backend development, or technical support utilities.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture, networking, security, identity and access management, scalability, resiliency, and performance.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control, deployment automation, release management, and complex technical troubleshooting.
• Ability to work onsite in Buffalo four days per week, collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, security, and business teams, and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
