Senior AI Engineer

Location: US Remote

Salary: $139,750–$188,125 USD per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, optimize, and deploy AI/ML models, data pipelines, and training workflows from concept through production.
• Maintain production AI systems by monitoring drift, debugging issues, and improving reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Design and ship agentic systems, RAG pipelines, APIs, and integrations with internal and third-party services.
• Contribute to AI architecture decisions, code reviews, design discussions, and end-to-end delivery ownership.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to translate technical tradeoffs and model behavior into actionable decisions.
• Support engineering quality and more junior engineers through technical guidance and constructive feedback.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years focused on production AI/ML systems and hands-on generative AI development.
• Strong software engineering background with Python or a similar language.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS and AWS GenAI services.
• Experience with AI frameworks, orchestration tools, evaluation frameworks, and observability tools for LLM applications.
• Experience with RAG pipelines, embedding models, vector databases, API development, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of AI safety, responsible AI, prompt-injection defenses, PII handling, and AI cost optimization.

Nice to have

• Day-to-day experience with AI-forward coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.
• Experience with token economics, caching, model routing, and quantization.
• Strong judgment when navigating ambiguous technical challenges.
