Associate, Entertainment Banking

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The work arrangement, including the proportion of onsite and remote work, will be discussed during the interview.

What you will do

• Prepare and support financing proposals for existing and prospective media and entertainment clients.
• Conduct financial and non-financial analysis, assess credit risks, and draft recommendations for senior management.
• Support credit transactions through credit memo preparation, negotiations, legal documentation review, due diligence, and closing.
• Monitor and manage a portfolio of senior debt accounts, including borrower relationships, account performance, sector trends, and risk reporting.
• Build relationships with clients, internal partners, industry contacts, and Relationship Managers to identify business opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, economics, finance, accounting, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in a commercial credit and/or equity investment environment.
• Knowledge of lending principles, credit assessment, financing structure, industry analysis, and competitive analysis.
• Experience with financial modeling and preparing proposals and recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada is required; a valid work or study permit may be required where applicable.

Nice to have

• Graduate degree or professional designation such as CPA, CBV, CFA, FRM, or CAIA.
• Accounting skills and exposure to acquisition financing, project and interim financing, syndicated loans, and other banking products.
