Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; full-time summer internship from June 7, 2027 to August 20, 2027. The working model is 70% in-office and 30% flexible.

Salary: $20.00–$60.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Develop and evaluate AI/ML and agentic solutions for clinical data analysis, statistical programming, and workflow automation.
• Build RAG, tool-calling, skill-based agent architectures, and modular AI pipelines integrating clinical, statistical, and translational datasets.
• Explore LLM adaptation, post-training, evaluation, and optimization for statistical and clinical research use cases.
• Design traceable and reproducible agentic workflows with human oversight for regulated clinical development environments.
• Create interactive visualizations, dashboards, analytical applications, and reusable computational tools.
• Collaborate with statisticians, statistical programmers, data scientists, and scientists to translate clinical needs into practical technical solutions.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work with U.S. export-controlled information as a U.S. person; non-U.S. persons are not eligible for this position.
• Master's, doctoral, or advanced undergraduate student in statistics, biostatistics, computational biology, health informatics, data science, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Strong statistical knowledge and quantitative skills applied to scientific and clinical problems.
• Python coding experience required; R experience preferred.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in GenAI, LLMs, machine learning, agentic systems, model post-training, or AI application development.
• Strong analytical thinking, engineering mindset, communication skills, and ability to work across disciplines.

Nice to have

• Cloud computing, containerization, backend development, APIs, SQL, RAG, model evaluation, or AI deployment experience.
• Experience developing data visualizations, dashboards, analytical applications, or reusable computational tools.
• Interest in practical, reliable, and scalable AI solutions for clinical or biomedical research.
