Bindery Operator 2 (Print Manufacturing)

Location: Chanhassen, Minnesota, USA; onsite 12-hour rotating day shift from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Schedule: Week 1—Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday; Week 2—Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday.

Salary: $20.39–$31.03 per hour, with possible overtime, shift differential, call-in, and standby pay.

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, and operate auxiliary and automatic bindery machines, including folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binders, and gluing equipment.
• Operate and coordinate multi-station finishing equipment that processes printed sheets into books, catalogs, manuals, directories, magazines, and other finished products.
• Adjust machine stations for paper weight, color, machinability, and quality while maintaining dimensional accuracy.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and maintain functional operating conditions.
• Direct the production crew and monitor quality, output, and productivity.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret work orders and job specifications describing bindery requirements and machine-operation sequences.
• Ability to calculate distances, clearances, and fits when combining machines.
• Experience using standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain bindery equipment.
• Knowledge of automatic binding machines, multi-station collators, folding units, cutting equipment, and specialized finishing operations.
• Knowledge of coated and uncoated paper stocks and their machining requirements.
• Military experience aligned with lithography, combat lithography, or printing and bindery operations is applicable.
