Security Platform Engineer (SIEM)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work arrangement with the option to work from home or the office. Reliability Status Clearance and satisfactory background checks are required before starting employment.

Salary: CAD 65,000–105,000 annually.

What you will do

• Support and manage Splunk Enterprise Security within the Security Visibility squad.
• Analyze information systems, develop security use cases, and implement enterprise security solutions.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, participate in 24x7 on-call support, and support major incident management.
• Maintain security technologies, manage platform capacity and resiliency, and improve operational processes.
• Identify business risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and provide subject matter expertise during audits.
• Operationalize security projects through documentation, RACI development, knowledge transfer, and playbook maintenance.

Requirements

• Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in information technology or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of information security and engineering experience with enterprise security technologies.
• Experience with SIEM platforms such as QRadar or Splunk Enterprise Security, IDS/NDR, or threat simulation tools.
• Background in incident response or detection engineering and knowledge of NIST and ISO 2700x frameworks.
• Knowledge of endpoint detection and response, intrusion detection and prevention, certificate management, email security, firewalls, and web application firewalls.
• Experience with AWS and Microsoft Azure, Scrum or Kanban delivery, networking, and disaster recovery.
