Security Operations Specialist (Cybersecurity)

Location: Toronto, Canada; flexible hybrid work model

Salary: CAD 80,000–90,000 per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Provide ongoing managed-service and infrastructure support in line with contractual SLAs.
• Monitor system health, performance, resource availability, replication, data integrity, and infrastructure utilization.
• Intake, triage, investigate, escalate, and resolve incidents, issues, and problems, including alert events requiring a 15-minute response.
• Support incident recovery, post-incident analysis, customer updates, and first-line on-call pager coverage.
• Prepare change request advisories, maintain tickets and operational documentation, and follow service-management and security processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and client groups while improving operational tools, procedures, reliability, and support readiness.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience with intermediate proficiency in Windows Server, Linux—Red Hat preferred—and VMware ESXi.
• 2–4 years of experience with enterprise monitoring and alerting, SIEM, incident and ticket management, content management, and knowledge repositories.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Linux shell, Python, PowerShell, and schedulers.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, LDAP/Active Directory, SQL, networking, incident investigation, and forensics.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Studies, Cyber Security, or related experience; strong customer-facing communication and service-management skills.
• Must be eligible to work full-time for hirify.global in Canada and qualify for Canadian security clearance.
