Hardware (PCBA) Design and Verification Intern (Winter 2027 - 4 Months)

Location: Ottawa, Canada

Salary: CAD 25.50–35.00 per hour

What you will do

• Design and validate hardware for next-generation switching circuit packs.
• Test and debug new and existing printed circuit boards.
• Program boards and manage prototype inventory.
• Perform design verification covering functionality, performance, operating margins, and robustness.
• Measure and analyze signal integrity, thermal performance, and component qualification results.
• Maintain design specifications, test plans, test reports, and related documentation using Cadence CAD tools.

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Available for a four-month full-time work term starting January 2027.
• Based in or able to work in Ottawa, Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or other laboratory test equipment.
• Knowledge of high-speed signaling, transmission lines, and digital or analog circuit design.
• Experience with hardware design, debugging, PCB schematic capture, or layout tools.
