Lead Engineer, Quality Assurance (Trading Systems)

Location: New York, New York, United States of America; mostly on-site. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Base salary: $159,375–$206,250 annually, plus possible annual incentive compensation and long-term equity participation.

What you will do

• Own quality across the BIDS Trader workstation, matching engine, backend services, and FIX connectivity.
• Validate FIX connectivity, client onboarding, order entry, execution reports, and drop-copy behavior.
• Define test approaches and plans for new features from requirements through release.
• Execute and evolve functional, regression, end-to-end integration, performance, and resilience testing.
• Build test harnesses, test data, environment tooling, and stable automated CI suites.
• Investigate defects to root cause, support fixes, and contribute to release readiness and production verification.

Requirements

• Five to ten years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering.
• Experience testing complex, transactional, real-time, or latency-sensitive systems.
• Ability to design and maintain manual and automated test suites and own test strategy across functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Experience with Git, TeamCity, Jira, and Agile delivery environments.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Selenium, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, REST Assured, or Postman.
• Exposure to Java, SQL, Linux command line, Bash scripting, Docker, and AWS.
• Background in financial markets, equities trading, execution or order management systems, or the FIX protocol.
• Experience testing trading systems, matching engines, or other latency-sensitive platforms.
