Senior Systems Engineer, Enterprise AI Platforms (AI)

Location: Sunnyvale, California or Bellevue, Washington, United States. The position requires access to export-controlled information, so candidates must meet applicable U.S. person, export authorization, or eligibility requirements.

Salary: $182,000–$242,000 base salary per year, plus discretionary bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the lifecycle of employee-facing AI platforms across web, desktop, mobile, IDE, terminal, and browser surfaces.
• Design and operate AI governance processes, tool evaluations, procurement support, rollout standards, runbooks, and pilot-to-service pathways.
• Implement enforceable guardrails through SSO, SCIM, role-based entitlements, data-retention controls, device trust, and application policies.
• Build connector and MCP allowlists with scoped access across Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian, GitHub, ITSM, and HRIS systems.
• Own the internal AI control layer, including gateways, secrets, logging, rate limiting, cost attribution, inference endpoints, and agent hosts.
• Operate AI services to SRE standards and provide telemetry, dashboards, alerting, incident response, and senior technical escalation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering, site reliability engineering, or IT systems engineering experience building and operating systems in code.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience building with or administering LLM-based products, agent frameworks, retrieval pipelines, or enterprise AI tools.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Experience with production services, containers, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, secrets management, observability, or code-based enterprise automation.
• Working knowledge of identity and access systems, endpoint management, device trust, SaaS administration, SSO, SCIM, SAML/OIDC, and OAuth.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and lead complex cross-functional initiatives.

Nice to have

• Enterprise administration experience with Okta or Entra ID, Apple MDM/DDM, Jamf, Kandji, Munki, Intune, Chrome Enterprise, Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian, or GitHub.
• Experience governing AI tools across an organization of 1,000+ employees.
• Experience building MCP servers, reusable agent skills, system prompts, or repository-level instruction files.
• Knowledge of AI data governance, DLP, compliance frameworks, model self-hosting, or model serving.
