Location: Onsite in Fremont, California, five days per week. The role involves extended periods standing on the floor, supervising shifts, responding to urgent operational issues, and occasional travel to offsite collection locations or other company sites. All roles are U.S.-based, and applicants must have current authorization to work in the United States.
Anticipated base salary: $168,000–$219,000 USD per year.

What you will do
- Build, train, schedule, and lead robot operators and data collection specialists in Fremont.
- Own daily readiness of teleoperation stations, capture rigs, robots, and workcells, coordinating calibration, troubleshooting, and return to service.
- Plan and execute data collection campaigns with AI, Perception, and Skills Engineering teams against task, scenario, volume, and quality targets.
- Create SOPs, work instructions, task protocols, dashboards, and process controls while managing operational changes.
- Own throughput, usable-episode yield, rejection rate, station utilization, rig uptime, cycle time, productivity, and cost-per-usable-episode metrics.
- Manage vendors and contract labor, including sourcing, statements of work, rate negotiation, onboarding, performance, SLAs, and capacity planning.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in technical operations, data operations, manufacturing, industrial or process engineering, lab operations, or production environments.
- 3+ years leading frontline or technical teams, including hiring, performance management, and mentoring.
- Experience with teleoperation rigs, VR/XR capture, motion capture, or wearable sensor capture.
- Experience running metrics-driven operations and managing throughput, quality, utilization, vendors, or contract labor.
- Strong command of operational KPIs such as throughput, cycle time, takt time, utilization, yield, OEE, and uptime, with the ability to build dashboards and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience building a teleoperation or robot data collection function in robotics, humanoid robotics, autonomous vehicles, or embodied AI.
- Working knowledge of imitation learning and robot learning data requirements.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, time studies, or similar process improvement methods.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Grafana, Tableau, Power BI, Google Workspace, or equivalent tools.
