Pharmacist SME, Pharmacy Automation (MedTech)

Location: Mesa, Arizona, United States; on-site. The pharmacy operates 24/7, and the role requires flexibility to work any shift.

What you will do

• Oversee pharmacy dispensing automation and the workflows supporting automated prescription fulfillment.
• Manage operational support tickets escalated to the automation vendor and coordinate software updates with facility and pharmacy leadership.
• Analyze prescription forecasts, inventory placement, machine performance, and failure points to improve throughput and reduce downtime.
• Train and develop pharmacists and technicians working with automated dispensing systems.
• Coordinate new process implementation and collaborate on standard operating procedures.
• Perform pharmacist duties including drug utilization reviews, medication label checks, patient counseling, drug information review, and prescription record maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience as a practicing pharmacist and at least 1 year using pharmacy automation.
• Active pharmacist license in the pharmacy’s home state, or willingness to obtain the required license upon hire.
• Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, FDA requirements, HIPAA, prescription handling, and patient safety standards.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
• Mail service or mail-order pharmacy experience, Windows proficiency, effective communication skills, and the ability to stand for long periods and lift over 30 pounds safely.
