What you will do

• Produce, report, shoot, write, voice, and edit news stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Research events and background information, evaluate leads, and develop accurate, relevant story ideas.
• Arrange and conduct interviews with sources, attend news and community events, and gather pertinent facts.
• Pitch local stories to news managers and producers and collaborate on story priorities, emphasis, length, and format.
• Write and revise copy, present reports, interact with viewers on social media, and ensure journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Complete special projects and other assigned duties while meeting deadlines and time requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Fluent English and excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to ad lib when required.
• At least two years of news reporting experience, depending on market size.
• Superior on-air presence and proficiency with computers and standard office equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and flexibility to work any shift.
