Principal Engineer II - Data Engineering

What you will do

• Define the technical vision for large-scale supply chain data platforms built on AWS, Databricks, and Azure.
• Lead architecture and design decisions across data products and development teams, balancing scalability, security, resiliency, maintainability, and cost.
• Guide data solutions through discovery, architecture, implementation, deployment, and operational support for big data and AI/ML workloads.
• Coordinate multiple development teams, set priorities, manage dependencies, and drive execution across parallel workstreams.
• Mentor engineers, technical leads, and engineering managers while establishing cloud-native, DevSecOps, observability, and reliability practices.
• Set standards for AI-assisted engineering, run time-boxed experiments, and align technical roadmaps with product, operations, architecture, and supply chain stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years designing and delivering complex enterprise data and software solutions.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud-native data architecture on AWS, Databricks, and Azure, including distributed systems and scalable platform design.
• 5+ years using Python, PySpark, SQL, Databricks, Apache Spark, AWS Redshift, streaming frameworks, and modern DevOps practices.
• Expertise in data architecture, distributed data processing, domain-driven design, streaming and event-driven systems, data governance, security, observability, and reliability.
• Experience designing production AI/ML solutions, including data preparation, model integration, inference workflows, automation, SageMaker, or Bedrock.
• Must have the right to work in the United States and must not require hirify.global immigration support or visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, or fulfillment platforms at enterprise scale.
• AWS or Databricks certifications and SAFe or other agile delivery certifications.
• Experience with LLMs, AI agents, AI-assisted development platforms, or introducing emerging technologies into enterprise organizations.
• Experience in globally distributed teams, asynchronous delivery, or productivity-focused tooling.
