Salary: $6,631.67–$9,533.25 CAD monthly

What you will do

  • Plan, design, and deliver small- to medium-scale sustainable transportation infrastructure projects, including bike lanes, shared micromobility, secure bike parking, bus priority, traffic calming, pedestrian improvements, and wayfinding.
  • Coordinate project schedules, deliverables, risks, mitigation measures, procurement, permitting, and consultant services.
  • Collect, manage, and analyze transportation data such as traffic volumes, active transportation counts, transit ridership, speed studies, and curbside activity using tools including ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Tableau.
  • Lead audits, studies, field data collection, site visits, before-and-after evaluations, and assessments of safety, accessibility, and multimodal performance.
  • Prepare maps, reports, technical memos, presentations, graphics, funding applications, and recommendations based on engineering standards and transportation policies.
  • Coordinate with hirify.global units, transit agencies, consultants, community groups, the AMS, the UNA, and advisory committees; participate in engagement events and occasional evening or weekend activities.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson certification in an appropriate trade.
  • At least three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret transportation data, prepare technical reports, manage project records, databases, GIS layers, and asset inventories.
  • Strong written, oral, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, exercise sound judgment, and handle confidential information.
  • Ability to work outdoors occasionally and perform minor physical tasks such as transporting and setting up monitoring equipment, temporary signage, and event materials.

Nice to have

  • Undergraduate degree in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or another related applied science discipline.
  • Eligibility for registration as an Engineer-in-Training with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
  • Experience designing or managing transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Studies in Geography, Urban Planning, or a related transportation-focused field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, database and data-analysis applications, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
