Principal Full Stack Software Engineer (Java/AWS)

Location: Vancouver, Canada. hirify.globals may work from an office, from home, or in a combination of both; hiring for this position is specifically planned in Vancouver.

Salary: CAD 172,800–225,600 base pay per year, with potential eligibility for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

What you will do

• Understand user journeys and funnels while collaborating with product, design, and engineering on product strategy.
• Guide the technical direction and implementation of large-scale product features.
• Evaluate trade-offs across correctness, robustness, performance, and customer impact.
• Ship well-tested, secure, reliable, and maintainable code and contribute to reviews, documentation, and complex bug fixes.
• Identify engineering blockers and inefficiencies, improving design practices, testing, performance, security, and privacy.
• Mentor engineers and support technical growth across the engineering organization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing and building enterprise-grade solutions with microservices.
• Background in Java, Kotlin, observability tools, and service operations.
• In-depth knowledge of AWS offerings.
• Experience building distributed systems for a SaaS product.
• Experience recognizing and reconciling gaps and redundant efforts across organizations.
• Success with cross-company collaboration and performance coaching for engineers.
