What you will do

• Edit and proofread scientific and medical communications for accuracy, clarity, consistency, readability, and compliance with client, journal, congress, and house styles.
• Review content critically, raise queries, and recommend changes for improved flow, completeness, and audience suitability.
• Apply client-specific style guidelines and editorial processes, selecting the appropriate level of editing or proofreading.
• Check scientific data, claims, and source references for accuracy and consistency.
• Assess copyright permission requirements and provide practical guidance under senior direction.
• Manage work across multiple projects and accounts, communicate progress proactively, and deliver to agreed deadlines.

Requirements

• Degree in a scientific or related field; an advanced degree such as MD, PhD, PharmD, or MSc is advantageous.
• At least 1 year of medical or scientific editing experience in a healthcare consultancy or medical communications agency.
• Working knowledge of medical style guides, including the AMA Manual of Style, and client reference and review processes.
• Knowledge of copyright permissions in the medical communications or pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficiency in internet and PubMed searches, literature reviews, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and EndNote.
• Ability to prioritise, work independently with minimal supervision, and collaborate effectively.
