Fabrication Technician II (Optics)

Location: Onsite in Boulder, Colorado, United States. The position requires access to information subject to ITAR. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Pay: $23.00–$26.00 per hour, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Perform optical fabrication processes including beveling, blocking, edging, milling, sawing, grinding, polishing, and curve generation.
• Shape simple to medium-difficulty optical parts using standard fabrication methods and tooling.
• Perform standard, wax, cup, and straight-line beveling and blocking operations.
• Inspect and clean parts while following work instructions and basic dimensional requirements.
• Measure components using calipers, drop gauges, micrometers, comparators, a measuring microscope, and a spherometer.
• Use basic mathematics to calculate fabrication and measurement requirements.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of manufacturing experience.
• Basic mathematics skills.
• Ability to read and understand basic work instructions and prints.
• Ability to work effectively and contribute as part of a team.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Optical experience preferred.
