TL;DR

Senior Java Developer (Java/Spring/Quarkus): Building and maintaining a complex tax administration system covering tax declaration processing, calculations, assessments, and integrations with external systems with an accent on microservices, system integration, and scalable backend development. Focus on implementing and testing Java components, troubleshooting production issues, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with distributed stakeholders.

What you will do

Develop and maintain components for a complex tax administration system covering declarations, tax calculations, assessments, and external-system integrations.
Implement software according to design specifications and perform system integration, unit testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
Participate in effort estimation, delivery planning, incident triage, and prioritization.
Collaborate with project stakeholders and distributed teammates to support predictable delivery.
Provide technical input to product roadmaps and optimize CI/CD processes.

Requirements

6+ years of experience in Java development.
Strong experience with Spring Framework and Quarkus.
Understanding of microservices architecture and Docker/Kubernetes containers.
Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database, REST/SOAP integrations, and messaging systems such as Kafka or ActiveMQ.
Good understanding of testing principles and strong communication skills with stakeholders and distributed teams.
Confident English communication is required.

Nice to have

Experience with Angular frontend development.
German or Swiss German language skills.
