Field Application Engineer (IoT)

Location: Fernitz bei Graz, Austria, with on-site customer visits and willingness to travel up to 40%

Salary: €3,954 gross per month minimum, with higher pay depending on qualifications

What you will do

• Support the transition of product prototypes into production and provide feedback to R&D teams.
• Deploy and install IoT products and customer-specific solutions in collaboration with customer project managers.
• Serve as the primary technical contact during deployment and early adoption phases.
• Troubleshoot software, devices, wireless networks, and cloud services; perform root cause analysis and coordinate resolutions.
• Conduct on-site installation, troubleshooting, and quality-assurance visits.
• Create troubleshooting guides, deployment procedures, knowledge-base articles, and improved support processes.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as an Application Engineer or in a similar technical customer-facing role.
• Degree from a university or higher technical college in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, STEM, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of IoT technologies and wireless protocols including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy, Zigbee, and LoRa.
• Experience with software troubleshooting, basic coding or scripting, log analysis tools, and Linux environments.
• Strong project coordination, analytical, critical-thinking, and data-analysis skills.
• Fluent German and good knowledge of English are required; willingness to travel up to 40% is expected.
