Senior Backend Engineer (Python/Django)

Location: Paris, France (hybrid)

Salary: €95,000–€105,000 annually plus stock options/BSPCE

What you will do

• Own the architecture, development, delivery, and performance monitoring of the pricing system across iOS, Android, Web, and API products.
• Build and deliver Product Growth initiatives and pricing architecture for millions of users.
• Design and implement backend features from end to end, including release monitoring with Datadog.
• Collaborate with product owners and frontend and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Optimize existing endpoints, reduce latency, and scale backend services for increasing usage.
• Use product usage data and user feedback to iterate on the platform quickly.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Django and Django REST Framework.
• Experience scaling relational databases, designing schemas, optimizing Django queries, and running low-downtime migrations.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL databases larger than 100 GB.
• Experience scaling SaaS and subscription management systems using Stripe and RevenueCat.
• Experience designing APIs in collaboration with frontend engineers and producing OpenAPI specifications and developer documentation.
• Fluent English required; French is not required. Hybrid work from the Paris office is expected.
