Production Driller (Underground Mining)

Location: Waihi, New Zealand; residential onsite role with 7-on, 7-off shifts including night shifts and 12-hour shifts.

What you will do

• Safely operate Top Hammer and ITHH drill rigs to drill blast holes for stope production and miscellaneous drilling.
• Perform risk assessments and complete pre-start and shutdown checks for equipment, ground conditions, consumables, surveys, and drill plans.
• Prepare, pack up, and clean work sites, making minor drilling-plan adjustments when necessary.
• Participate in shift changeovers and accurately complete drilling reports, including job conditions and issues encountered.
• Support the services section and lead by example while mentoring teammates and performing all trained and competent duties.

Requirements

• Competence in operating the production drills used on site.
• At least 2 years of underground mining experience.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Current full driver licence; ability to operate manual vehicles is mandatory.
• A valid New Zealand working visa is required.
