TL;DR
EQS Officer (EHS, Quality, and Safety): Driving environment, quality, and safety governance across Grid Technologies Service operations in Greater China with an accent on compliance, risk management, audits, incident investigation, and continuous improvement. Focus on implementing ISO-based management systems, managing contractors and suppliers, improving EHS data through Enablon and AI-enabled tools, and strengthening Zero Harm practices.

What you will do
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS management systems in line with Chinese regulations, requirements, and ISO standards.
- Drive EHS governance, compliance monitoring, risk assessments, audits, inspections, and corrective and preventive action programs.
- Support service projects with EHS requirements, high-risk activity governance, contractor management, and emergency preparedness.
- Manage incident reporting, investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and lessons-learned sharing.
- Assess and improve supplier and subcontractor EHS performance while delivering training, awareness, and competency programs.
- Own EHS digital processes using Enablon and other platforms, applying data analytics and AI-enabled insights to improve risk identification and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Safety Engineering, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant EHS experience in service operations, projects, industrial operations, or engineering businesses.
- Strong knowledge of Chinese EHS legislation, compliance management, risk control, incident investigation, audits, and CAPA.
- Advanced knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, plus basic knowledge of ISO 9001.
- Experience with supplier and contractor EHS management, digital reporting platforms, and data analytics; Enablon experience is highly desirable.
- Good written and spoken English and Chinese, with strong stakeholder management, facilitation, training, communication, and analytical skills.
Nice to have
- Certified Safety Engineer or equivalent EHS qualification.
- ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 auditor certifications.
- Quality-related qualifications and experience with quality governance.
