TL;DR
Material Chemistry Engineer (Soft Magnetics) (advanced electronics): Designing and optimizing Fe-based soft magnetic powders, amorphous and nanocrystalline alloys, and coating chemistries for high-frequency inductors with an accent on magnetic performance, surface treatment, and material reliability. Focus on correlating magnetic characterization with component performance, solving oxidation and thermal-drift issues, and supporting supplier qualification and production scale-up.

Location: Shunde, Guangdong, China

Company

hirify.global develops materials and solutions for advanced electronics and high-tech industries.

What you will do

  • Design and optimize Fe-based soft magnetic, amorphous, and nanocrystalline alloy powders for high-frequency inductors.
  • Develop organic and inorganic surface treatments, including coating chemistries, to improve material performance.
  • Engineer particle size distribution, morphology, microstructure, alloying, doping, and compounding to meet electrical and thermal targets.
  • Perform magnetic characterization using VSM, B-H loops, and AC loss measurements, and correlate results with component performance.
  • Collaborate with electrical design teams to co-optimize materials and component architectures.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for oxidation, aging, thermal drift, and other material-related reliability issues while supporting supplier qualification and powder-production scale-up.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Metallurgy, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in soft magnetic materials, powder metallurgy, or soft magnetic components.
  • Strong knowledge of Fe-based alloys, amorphous and nanocrystalline materials, and surface chemistry.
  • Hands-on experience with sol-gel, silane coupling, phosphating, polymer encapsulation, and metal oxide coating processes.
  • Familiarity with high-frequency power electronics in POL modules.
  • Experience with DOE, SPC, and materials reliability testing.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on materials and solutions supporting advanced electronics and high-tech industries.
  • Collaborate across materials, electrical design, supplier, and production teams.
  • Comprehensive pay and benefits package.
  • Equal opportunity workplace with reasonable accommodation available during the application process.
