Swahili Linguistic Evaluator & Functional Tester (AI)

What you will do

• Evaluate pre-release AI model responses in Swahili for accuracy, naturalness, appropriateness, and overall quality.
• Fact-check responses against source material and compare the Swahili experience with the English version.
• Test complete user journeys on client-supplied smartphones and next-generation smart glasses across iOS and Android.
• Identify localization, rendering, display, date, number, currency, unit, and untranslated-string issues.
• Document defects with reproduction steps, device and operating system details, locale, build ID, and supporting evidence.
• Re-test fixes and support other linguistic projects as needed.

Requirements

• Native-level or fully bilingual Swahili, written and spoken, with current knowledge of everyday and technical usage.
• Ability to explain issues clearly in English.
• Confidence using smartphones and laptops, including both iOS and Android.
• Strong attention to detail and objective judgement when assessing quality.
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed test scripts and guidelines.
• On-site work in a private, secure Welocalize office is required; remote work is not available for this programme.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in software or app testing, localization QA, or linguistic evaluation.
