School Success Caseworker (Education/Case Management): Connecting newcomer families and refugee youth with schools, learning accommodations, medical services, and community resources with an accent on family outreach, trauma-informed support, and education case management. Focus on coordinating IEPs and related services, supporting in-person afterschool programs, tracking client outcomes, and navigating local school systems.
Location: Atlanta, GA, USA; hybrid work combining office, remote, and field time in the service delivery area. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Salary: $21.61–$22.75 per hour

What you will do
- Implement daily in-person afterschool and summer activities, including tutoring, homework support, mentoring, and social-emotional learning.
- Support student recruitment, attendance tracking, family outreach, enrollment activities, workshops, enrichment programs, and field trips.
- Respond to referrals and help refugee and immigrant families navigate schools, instructional changes, accommodations, and community services.
- Support access to IEPs, 504 plans, therapeutic services, hospital homebound services, counseling, and extended learning programs.
- Coordinate with school staff, IRC programs, school districts, volunteers, and community partners.
- Maintain case records, track outcomes, support monitoring and evaluation, and contribute to funder reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or a related field preferred.
- At least two years of experience working with students and families in education or social services.
- Experience with refugee or immigrant populations, cross-cultural work, or overseas work.
- Experience supporting multilingual learners or their families.
- Knowledge of local education and social service systems, accommodations, and supports for children with complex needs.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal insured vehicle.
Nice to have
- Fluency in Dari, Pashto, Arabic, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, or another predominant language of the local client base.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, digital data entry, research, and problem-solving tools.
