Staff Machine Learning Engineer (Content Understanding & Moderation)

Base salary: ¥831,400–¥1,247,000 CNY gross per year

What you will do

• Define multimodal content representation across video, images, playable content, audio, and text for relevance and moderation.
• Translate regulatory and contractual requirements into measurable ML objectives with product, engineering, and science teams.
• Define evaluation approaches for scarce, noisy, ambiguous, and contested labels.
• Build shared content embeddings, game-level features, evaluation harnesses, and labeling pipelines.
• Lead architectural direction across teams and mentor senior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Deep experience in multimodal machine learning combining vision and language; video experience is especially relevant.
• Production experience owning trust and safety, content moderation, brand safety, or policy enforcement systems.
• Experience working with scarce, ambiguous, disputed, and evolving labels.
• Experience adapting foundation models through fine-tuning, distillation, and latency and cost optimization.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience operating production ML systems on a serving path.
• Professional written and verbal English is required for regular communication with worldwide colleagues and partners.

• Familiarity with advertising-content regulations and policy regimes, including DSA, child-directed treatment, and regional advertising standards.
