Staff Engineer (HDD Backend Test Process)

Location: Korat, Thailand; onsite role. Travel: None.

What you will do

• Lead technical problem-solving for complex manufacturing, test, and product quality issues.
• Develop strategies to improve yield, test performance, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Manage PCO releases and controls, including risk management and SOP compliance.
• Drive build configuration management according to BOM, ECN, SOP, and customer-specific restrictions.
• Analyze HDD CERT testing data, identify trends and root causes, and provide yield and test-time assumptions for production planning.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Design, Firmware, Quality, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to support product introductions and technology transitions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, test engineering, product engineering, quality engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with drive test process flow and algorithms, manufacturing processes, test engineering, and product quality systems.
• Expertise in root cause analysis and problem-solving methods including 8D, DMAIC, Fishbone, 5 Why, and FMEA.
• Experience with yield improvement, reliability analysis, process optimization, statistical analysis, and process control.
• Good command of English and Thai is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in HDD manufacturing, backend test operations, or storage technology.
• Experience with JMP, Minitab, SQL, Python, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DOE, SPC, and FMEA.
