Automation & Tooling Engineer (AI)

Location: BangPa-in, Thailand; onsite at BangPa-In Building 4

What you will do

• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, containment actions, and long-term solutions for tooling, fixtures, and automated equipment.
• Monitor Cpk, MTBF, MTTR, trigger limits, and OCAP flows, responding to abnormalities and equipment downtime.
• Upgrade and modify jigs, fixtures, tooling setups, and related procedures while maintaining process and system standardization.
• Support product and technology transfers between manufacturing sites and coordinate with tooling and fixture vendors.
• Train and guide technicians and manufacturing personnel, supervise technical crews, and support workplace safety and risk mitigation.
• Develop and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, control, Python automation, monitoring, dashboard, and AI-based predictive maintenance solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Science, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of tooling, jigs, fixtures, automated-equipment troubleshooting, PLC programming, HMI development, and control-system troubleshooting.
• Python skills for automation, data analysis, equipment monitoring, and dashboard development.
• Written, listening, and verbal English communication skills are required.
• Knowledge of SPC, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, FMEA, 8D, basic statistics, mechanical drawings, and GD&T is valuable.

Nice to have

• Experience or knowledge in HDD manufacturing, ESD, contamination control, robotics, machine vision, sensors, pneumatics, and microcontrollers.
• Awareness of IMS, BCM, safety, fire prevention, RBA, sustainability, and Industry 5.0.
• Experience with Kaizen, QCC, continuous improvement, problem-solving, Microsoft Office, Minitab, or Spotfire.
